Week 8: Simply and by the Spirit

Good morning everyone! The title for my email describes this week well and this email too. It's going to be a shorter one because I don't have much time.  We had quad zone conference this week where missionaries from all over southwest England gathered to learn and to grow together. I had the opportunity to talk with my mission President about adjusting to missionary life and what I can do better. We also were counseled to follow the mission plan which was developed at the beginning of the year after much prayer and deliberation. We also had plenty opportunities to practice teaching. Let's just say I have much to learn. Like a lot to learn. It was really great though. Then we spent the rest of this week meeting interesting people. We taught many lessons and saw miracles in the form of willing listeners, directional promptings, and finding joy in the little things.  I wanted to take a moment to share some cultural things about England and just about my day to day. Week 7: It Didn't Rain Too Much This Week!

Good mornin everyone! It's been an interesting week here in Holsworthy. First off, let me apologize. My email last week apparently didn't send so I resent it this morning. If you didn't get it and still want to get it, shoot me an email. Also, it's not Wednesday! Why am I emailing? But, we keep moving forward and we make back up plans and adjust as well as we can. I've been learning a lot about patience. The capacity of patience to carry you through a difficult time is much deeper than I thought. I have seen the difference this week as I have focused more on patience. Often times, we...

Week 6: England Bacon is Odd

Good morning everyone! Another week has come and gone here in Holsworthy and it's been interesting. We spend much of our time knocking on doors, talking to people on the street, and approaching people around town, all with the goal of trying to find people interested in hearing the message we share about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have not had much success as of late, but we continue to talk and search. The members of the church here in my area are so wonderful and kind. We get fed dinner almost every other day and others give us food if they can't have us over. They are also doing much to help us in our efforts. I'm grateful that we have their support, as few in number as they are. We did a lot of driving this week. General conference, the church broadcast I mentioned in my last email, was broadcasted in a chapel about 1.5 hours away from where we live. All day Sunday was spent driving to the chapel, watching about 6 hours of the broadcast, and having some meals in ...
