Hey everybody! I don't have much time today because we went to a really cool place called Boscastle (I'll attach some pics).
I've had a really good week and it's been full of God's hand and speaking to really interesting people. First up, DON'T send any letters to my address until next week because moves calls happen Saturday and I could stay and I could go so who knows. Thursday I was kind of feeling a bit down but we just kept working hard and we went back to a road that I wanted to knock a few weeks ago. Then we were able to find three people who said we could come share more with them! It was really a tender mercy and showed me that God walks with us always.
Friday night we were supposed to have dinner with our friend Ruth at the house of some members here, but she texted us and said she went 30 minutes in the wrong direction so she had to cancel. It was disappointing but also a blast because Elder Moorcroft and I cooked dinner for the members. It turned out pretty well!
Saturday was spent driving and speaking to loads of people, including the trombone playing, skiing, surfing, liberal democrat, IT specialist and naval officer Darrell Alexander or Daz. He's a cool guy. He's gonna meet with us when he gets back from Holland in two weeks.
Sunday was a little slow because Elder Moorcroft was under the weather but we made it through.
Monday and Tuesday were spent in Plymouth for exchange. I was with Elder Burningham and we had a blast. It was a really great exchange and we met some, um, let's just say different people.
British Word of the Week: innit - an affirmative filler word "it's a nice day innit bruv"
British Food of the Week: Maltesers - like whoppers but they actually taste good (shout out to the real mvp Clare Hanson for the Malteasers Easter egg)
Scripture of the Week: 1 Nephi 17:3-4
Companion Comic: this isn't my companion but it was still funny. Elder Burningham and I were walking through Plymouth City centre and we stopped this one lady to talk to her. I asked this lady "if you could ask God for one thing, right here, right now, what would you ask Him for?" And she said "to be a little taller". So naturally I asked why and she said, with a glazed look in her eyes "so I can plant the earth" and then she giggled and I was a little bit weirded out but also I couldn't stop laughing.
I wanted to end my email with this thought. For Easter in the UK, there's a special video you can check out on
lds.org.uk. It shares how Christ has always been there for us. He truly has always been there for me, especially this past year and a half since Sawyer died. He was there for me, before, during and after. I love Him and I know He loves me and each one of you. Part of the way He shows that love is through the things He teaches us. This weekend is General Conference which you can watch at
lds.org. This is where the leaders of the Church share messages and thoughts to help us grow closer to Jesus Christ and find peace and happiness. I invite you to all tune in, at least for a little bit. Happy Easter everyone. I love you all and thanks for your love and support.
