Okay so here we go once more. Wow this week has been amazing. Oxford is the best. Like I love it so much here. It's so rich with history, people, culture and just everything that I could ever want. It's the best.
This week has been spent getting to know the area and the people in it. I love the members here. They're so kind and just cool people. There's professors, movie producers, students, and everyone in between here. It's so radically different than Holsworthy. I don't want to say it's better because both places have beauties and quirks unique to themselves that I love and cherish. It is a wonderful change of pace however.
So fun fact, busses don't really run after a certain time, so if you are out late, and there isn't a bus, you have to walk home in the rain. So that's fun.
Also, there are so many good places here to eat. I legitimately am so torn because I can't decide where to spend my limited funds because everything looks so amazing.
So it's really weird because I never saw missionaries in Holsworthy ever and I see the other 4 missionaries plus the senior couple that lives here like almost every day. It's amazing. Still weird though.
We met the young single adults in the ward here on Sunday and they are all so cool. Some of them are going to teach us how to make scones. I'm super pumped. Also, I low-key want to come back to study here. We'll see what happens. I just love it here.
We helped a family move on Saturday and it was a blast but also I will never be a boarder because they had do much stuff and I can't imagine having to manage that much stuff myself.
We've spent a lot of this week getting our flat into proper working order and not disgusting. Also a reminder to me that I will never live like some people my age live. Being on a mission has taught me a lot of things I shouldn't do, which is really beneficial. Strange but I'm grateful for it.
British Word of the Week: deanery - where the Dean of the college lives; "Dean Dean lives in the deanery and eats deaner at the deaner table."
British food of the week: marmite - it's just gross, its like soy sauce and butter but also bread? It's weird. "Putting marmite on bread is like putting ketchup on a tomato."
Companion Comic: the other morning, Elder Burton and I woke up and he sat up in his bed, looked at me, and the first thing he said was "sharks are freaking scary" and then he didn't say anything for the next 20 minutes. Also, the other day he was making a smoothie and I said "that blender looks really full" and he said "oh it'll be fine" and five minutes later the blender broke. But now it's working again so it's all good.
Scripture of the Week: Reyna Aburto - "Even though we may not have seen our Savior with our physical eyes, we can know that He lives. As we draw closer to Him, as we seek to receive a personal witness through the Holy Ghost of His divine mission, we will have a better understanding of our purpose; the love of God will dwell in our hearts; we will have the determination to be one in the kaleidoscopes of our families, wards, and communities; and we will minister to each other “in newer, better ways.”
I wanted to end my email with this thought. God is in the details of our lives. Let me explain. Being here in Oxford has made me realise how many prayers God has answered for me in the past 3 months. And there is a family that loved into the ward THE EXACT SAME WEEK I DID and the mother recently lost her brother a year and a half ago. Sound familiar? Also they're from NEW ZEALAND and I love new Zealanders. I know we were meant to overlap so we could be a strength to each other. There are so many other things that would take much more time to explain, but one day, ask me about it. I'd love to tell you. I know God is in details of your lives too. Just look for Him :-)
I love you all and enjoy the photos! Thanks for your love and support. Keep on keeping on!

Green Templeton College observatory and Christchurch college where they filmed Harry potter. It's sick.
