Week 44: And then there were two

Image
This week has been full of so many things but I am just going to jump write into it. We managed to see many miracles this week even with the departure of Elder Burton looming over our heads. Thursday was DLC in Reading. Basically, we decided that moving forward we need to just be nice people as the mission boundaries adjust and not think we are better than the other missionaries. It was great and it only took 4 hours to come to that conclusion :-) but really it was a great meeting and we were able to see the legendary Elder Palmer, who is headed back home to canadia (shoot me those photos friend) and the amazing Elder Parcell, who will no longer be in the England London mission but in fact the England Birmingham mission. He is going to be just fine though because he is headed to Guernsey. After many cool photos, me preaching the gospel to the jazz tunes of Elder Burton (do not worry I have a video but do worry because it is too big to send and so you will get to see it in fourteen...

Week 43: Let's Dance to Joy Division - The Wombats

This week's title format is a homage to my good friend Elder Rhee. It's because our mission President surprised us and told us moves today! Our mission is splitting, as I have mentioned, and I don't actually feek joy at the division,  it's just a song that has been stuck in my head all week. So, drum roll please... I am going to be in the London Mission! I will be staying here in Oxford with Elder Man. Elder Burton is staying in the same zone (thankfully) and Elder Clement and Elder Dos Santos are both leaving Oxford. There are so many emotions and things running through my head. I am so excited to still be in the London Mission. I am super sad that Elder Burton is leaving us though. He really is a great missionary and an all around amazing human. I have learned a lot from him. Basingstoke is not going to know what hit them. This week has been really long and full of finding, football, and so many other things but also everything that's typical for my...

Week 42: "Make it like 'Candles in the wind' but a thousand times better"

Hello friends, neighbors, colleagues, and all around familial pals. This week has been a bit of a crazy one, so bear with me as I attempt to reflect, recollect, and regurgitate the last seven days of Elder McKinley's life into a convenient format for the reader's digestion. This week was crazy but good. So Thursday was spent doing service for most of the day. We helped a guy begin to move from his old house to his new one. Let me just say two things about the incident. First, Robinson's brand squash should really up their game and make squash that is strong enough to merit the name "Sqaush" and not just taste like normal juice that might be a little more potent than usual. Only those of you in this mission or those familiar with the idea of squash will be able to infer into this nuance filled rant, but still, I thought it worth including. Second, I solemnly swear before all of you, my loyal readers, that I will never, ever, ever everververververververververve...

Week 41: The Bolshevik of Bideford

Hello! This week has been fairly interesting but it also feels like I wrote you all yesterday so bear with me as I attempt to figure out what happened this past week and put it all into words put together for your viewing pleasure. You are welcome to read them as well as look at them, but, rest assured, the words will be beautiful nonetheless. So at the end of last preparation day we went as a district to this museum called pitt rivers. Basically its a museum of all kinds of things from all over the world. There is everything from shrunken heads to ancient weapons to a massive totem pole that is three stories tall. There are so many cool things to look at that I have still not seen everything and that was my third visit there. I had the chance to go on exchange with Elder Dos Santos. He is from Brazil and he is a pretty cool guy. We had a pretty good time. Okay, I am going to be honest with you here. I really can't think of a whol...
