Week 43: Let's Dance to Joy Division - The Wombats

This week's title format is a homage to my good friend Elder Rhee. It's because our mission President surprised us and told us moves today! Our mission is splitting, as I have mentioned, and I don't actually feek joy at the division,  it's just a song that has been stuck in my head all week.

So, drum roll please...

I am going to be in the London Mission! I will be staying here in Oxford with Elder Man. Elder Burton is staying in the same zone (thankfully) and Elder Clement and Elder Dos Santos are both leaving Oxford. There are so many emotions and things running through my head. I am so excited to still be in the London Mission. I am super sad that Elder Burton is leaving us though. He really is a great missionary and an all around amazing human. I have learned a lot from him. Basingstoke is not going to know what hit them.

This week has been really long and full of finding, football, and so many other things but also everything that's typical for my week. I'll just start going through and we'll see what happens.

Wednesday and Thursday I was with Elder Dos Santos on exchange. It was really great! He's a stand up missionary and we had a really great time and saw many miracles. Also, we had dinner at the Kerry's. They are so amazing. Brother Kerry is a history professor at Oxford and BYU and Sister Kerry studies soils. They are so cool and they are a half American half british family and they just combine the best of both worlds. Brother Kerry even knows some of my professors at BYU! Small world. Their kids are so much fun too. We did dress up with them in historical warfare clothing and weapons in their back garden that looks out onto a field of grain. It is gorgeous and so british and I absolutely love it.

Friday involved me playing football with British People and it was one of the greatest cultural experiences of my mission. It was fantastic. Also, I want it to be made known that I only got scored on 4 times or so. So yeah, I am getting better at it.

Saturday involved more football and more people talked to and attempted lessons that did not happened but it was great.
If I am being totally honest, my ability to recall what happened this week has been totally blown out of the window by the announcement of moves moments ago. Basically we did a lot (and I mean a lot) of finding the past two days and I am so dead tired but we have seen some cool miracles, including the lesson we have set up for Saturday with this really nice lady named Bea. She seems super interested and we are so excited to meet with her. Another little miracle was a man named Luis. Elder Burton and Elder Walker found him on Tuesday of last week and we were able to meet with him this past Monday. He is such a nice and curious guy and the miracle of Luis is that he agreed to meet with us because of a friend he had who recently joined our church and we actually know his friend! Crazy stuff. Luis is really open to learning more and we are excited to continue to meet with him.

British Word of the Week: gobsmacked - I am utterly gobsmacked at the moves that just were announced.

British Food of the Week: crunchy nut - cereal that tastes like peanut brittle

Scripture of the Week: 3 Nephi 1:20

Companion Comic: honestly, I cannot think of one specific moment this week that was funnier than another. Every day is just so hilarious and I laugh so much. this past transfer has been a blast and I will miss it.

Okay so this email is not as put together as others but I'll leave you with a few thoughts:
-I am so happy to be here where I am
-I love being a missionary
-Jesus Christ is my Saviour and He has strengthened me so much and continues to on a daily basis and can do the same for you
-The Book of Mormon is true
-I am so pumped to be in the London Mission

I love you all so much. Also, please do not send any more letters to the London Temple address. I will get you the new address to send things to next week. For now, you can continue to use the Tennyson lodge address. Anyways, this is me, signing off. Talk to you next week.
