Week 27: Goodbyes, Good birds, and Good Baptisms

So, moves happened, and (drum roll please)..............I'm still in Holsworthy! This will be transfer number 5 here so it should be interesting. The members here haven't run me out of town yet so at least I've got that going for me. I'm still with Elder Moorcroft as well. The more things change, the more the stay the same. It should be a good transfer though.  Zone conference was really amazing. Not only did I get to see some old mission friends, but Elder Sabin had some really great thoughts about missionary. This applies to everything in life too. Our happiness and joy comes down to choice. Yeah there are some things we can't control, but at the end of the day, when we choose to set the sails and catch the winds of life rather than just let them best us down, we will find happiness.  Thank you for you prayers. Mae was baptised this week! She is the cutest little thing and she has the sweetest spirit. I was able to confirm her a member of the church (se

Week 26: I will hit my 6 month mark this week??

Hey everybody! So I don't have a massive amount of time today. Here are the highlights: -I am no longer sick - Mae passed her baptismal interview! I literally cannot tell you how ecstatic I am. I love her family and I know that God led them to us and it's just been a miracle filled adventure all the way. -we had exchange in Plymouth and it was amazing! Such a fun time.  -we went to widemouth bay today and it was absolutely gorgeous.  -we taught the ex partner of someone we are teaching and it was a really good lesson on our part and then at the end when we asked him to read the book of Mormon, come to church, and be baptised if he found out it was true and he said, and I quote, "no, I don't need this in my life". Hey we tried. -on Sunday I called 60 people and three of them want to meet up this week. 5%, not bad in my book.   British Food of the Week: pork sausages and mash - nuff said British Word of the Week: enquire - they spell it with an

Week 25: I Got Sick

Hello beloved people. I love you all and hope you are doing well. So, it finally happened. I got sick. Woot. Woot. It happened  Sunday  night and I'm still not back to normal but hey I'm powering through. I usually only get sick about once a year, so hopefully this will be it until 2019. Other than being sick, it's been a good week. We had interviews with Preisdent Gubler and had training with the other missionaries in and around Cornwall and Devon. It's always a blast seeing other missionaries. One of them, Elder Rhee, actually was in the same BYU ward with the same bishop I had, but was there the year before me! It's a small world. He's also from Virginia. Again, small world. Otherwise, we were able to spend some time learning and growing together and one thing it helped me remember is that however different we all are, Christ knows us all individually and can help us regardless of how alone we feel.  We have been able to teach Sammi and Mae a lot this we

Week 24: I Prayed for Snow but Forgot to Pray for it to Stick

Good morning everyone! It's been a long, miracle filled week here in Holsworthy so I'm going to get right down to business, after a quick announcement: My mission is closing. The England London South Mission is being consolidated into two other missions. For the time being, I'm unsure of what mission I will be reassigned to but it will either be the England Birmingham Mission or the England London Mission. So we'll all have to stay tuned for what happens there.  This week was a good one. We had to get our car fixed so it involved a lot of driving around and waiting for this and that but it's almost all good now! So that took a bunch if time this week. However, we were still able to meet with some friends and reach them about the gospel to Jesus Christ! It has been so amazing and fun. On Friday we had a miracle. We had five appointments and none of them fell through! It was absolutely amazing! We had the opportunity to teach two of our friends who are pr
