Week 25: I Got Sick

Hello beloved people. I love you all and hope you are doing well. So, it finally happened. I got sick. Woot. Woot. It happened Sunday night and I'm still not back to normal but hey I'm powering through. I usually only get sick about once a year, so hopefully this will be it until 2019. Other than being sick, it's been a good week. We had interviews with Preisdent Gubler and had training with the other missionaries in and around Cornwall and Devon. It's always a blast seeing other missionaries. One of them, Elder Rhee, actually was in the same BYU ward with the same bishop I had, but was there the year before me! It's a small world. He's also from Virginia. Again, small world. Otherwise, we were able to spend some time learning and growing together and one thing it helped me remember is that however different we all are, Christ knows us all individually and can help us regardless of how alone we feel.

We have been able to teach Sammi and Mae a lot this week! They are both amazing and continuing to grow in their love for Jesus Christ. Mae is getting baptised a week from Saturday! Her family is so much fun. We had dinner with them on Sunday and it was amazing. We had the Thai curries and pancit (forgive the spelling if it's wrong). It was amazing. Mae's mom is from the Philippines and speaks Tagalog. Mae has a 3 year old sister who is the cutest thing ever. Whenever her Mom speaks Tagalog, her sister can't help but laugh hysterically and kick her feet back and forth. It's the most adorable thing ever.

The past few days have just been full of me being sick, running around doing different necessary things, and sleeping. Also, I can't really remember a lot of what happened this week. "Sorry about that," as Sister Jerusalem often says in her attempted southern accent.

British Word of the Week: smart - I bought this cool coat from a charity shop last week and this is why smart is the word of the week. It's basically the equivalent to looking sharp. There you go.

British food of the week: pancakes - they're not like normal pancakes. They're just different. Also, happy pancake day.

Companion comic: this one is a good one. So Elder Moorcroft had an appointment at the hospital is Exeter yesterday. I'm sitting in the waiting room while he is in his appointment and it's just me and this older guy sitting in there. The nurse walks in and calls for "Shaney Apisaloma". Now this totally throws me off because I know that name. It's the name of one of the sister missionaries that is currently serving in Plymouth. But Exeter is like an hour from Plymouth and Plymouth has a hospital. So I'm sitting there thinking "what's going on". Elder Moorcroft gets out of his appointment and I tell him what happened. We call Sister Apisaloma and she says, "yeah I'm in Exeter but I'm late for my appointment". So we help direct her and her companion to the hospital and we then give her and her companion a ride to where they were meeting the Exeter sister missionaries for lunch and we have lunch with them! It was a crazy and unexpected turn of events but the whole thing just made me laugh the whole time.

Scripture of the Week: 1 Corinthians 13:12 this one comes from the one and only Elder Rhee. We may not understand everything that happens now. But. We. Will.

Also, last week, Elder Moorcroft and I went to a cool little village called clovelly! That's where most of the pictures are.

God is a God of miracles and we see those miracles after we show forth our faith. I love you all and I know those miracle are accessible to you! I see miracles everyday but that's in part because I've opened my eyes to what miracles can be, not just what I think they are. Have a great week and thanks for the support!
