Week 80: "Why would you want to learn Korean, it's too complicated!"

Hello everyone! Welcome back. This is going to be brief, but then again, when is it not as of late.

Elder Allkja is moving and I am going to be serving with Elder De Carlo. He is from Malta and has 5 weeks left in the mission. So I went from never having a companion for less than three months to having two companions in less than three months. I am staying in Woodley, which is a blessing because moving all my stuff at this point in misison stresses me out.

We had a really good week and saw a lot of miracles, but I will be honest: I really cannot remember this transfer. It has flown by and I feel I have little to show for it. This isn't bad, or at least, I don't feel bad, it just makes writing these things easier because there is less to say :-)

I will share a thought.

Yesterday we knocked on someone's door who intially met the missionaries 10 years ago. We were immediately invited in and had a discussion about faith for about 45 minutes. This was in a small village on the border of our area, a village called Winnersh. Then we made our way to a friend's house and had dinner with him and spoke more about faith and connecting with Jesus Christ. The whole evening was a humbling one. In the middle of my missionary experience, I can easily get caught up in the business of it all. There is so much to do and rarely enough time to do it all. Days like yesterday remind me how surreal all of this is. I am a stranger. I do not know these people and they do not know me. I come from a land far away and many times feel out of my depth. Yet, I am still loved and cared for and trusted. I hear the stories of people's lives, what trials they've been through and what burdens they bear. People open their hearts and their homes to me. I am continually baffled as to why. Then I remember whose name I wear on my chest, whose name I come in. People are not trusting me so much as they are trusting Jesus Christ. He is the one who can heal them and I happen to be an appointed instrument to bring them His love. I am so grateful to continually represent and serve Him by serving Him, especially in this country.

British Word of the Week: the rugby - it's never just rugby. it's THE rugby.

British Food of the Week: Chicken and stuffing sandwich - it's like thanksgiving every time you can't be bothered to cook for yourself and hit that 3 pound meal deal

Scripture of the week: Moroni 10:32

Companion Comic: so it's not my companion, but this lady in our ward is from Korea and we sat next to each other in Sunday School and I was telling her I wanted to learn Korean and the title of my email is her response.

I love you loads! Have a great week. Also, I cannot tell you how excited I am, but they are releasing a new pokemon game based on the UK AFTER I get home from my mission. What a blessing. Have a great week!
