I find it hard to believe we are at this point once again.
This week was a blur. We welcomed 8 new missionaries into the mission, had interviews with President, and followed up on technology use with those missionaries that arrived a few weeks ago. I was less bothered by the fact that I only have one more regular interview left with President Checketts and more bothered by the lack of time I had to go out to teach our friends. Nevertheless, the interviews I had with President and Sister Checketts were wonderful. They have become good friends and beloved mentors. They are such stalwart figures of faith and dedication, to the Lord, to the people they serve, and to each other. I love them.
The capstone of the week was the baptism of our friend Francisco. He is such a good soul. He was confirmed a member of the church this Sunday. He sent us a text later that day saying that he felt so happy and excited about this responsibility and feels it's one of the best decisions he's ever made. Moments like these make all the hard work, sleepless nights, early mornings, rainy days, and ceaseless efforts worth it.
Also, happy fathers day to all those father figures in my life (including my irreplaceable and indispensable, one of a kind dad). May we all strive to emulate what a father should be each any every day.
Scripture of the Week: Moroni 8:2-3
Companion Comic: Elder Coelho falls asleep on the tube all the time and yesterday, he was back at it again, only this time his arm was holding his head up with the help of an arm rest. From the other side of the carriage, I watched as that once firm elbow slowly made it's way to the edge of that arm rest, and then, when we abruptly pulled into the next station, he just about punched himself in the face as his dream world came tumbling down, literally and figuratively. I live for these moments as well
Food of the Week: stay tuned. Festa junina is this week. #pumped
Word of the Week: batismo
I'm so excited to see what God has in store for me in the coming weeks. I have a testimony that He lifts the hands that hang down, He strengthens the feeble knees, and He is with us always. I love my Saviour Jesus Christ. He lives. Have an amazing week all :-)
